Visiting ancient cities we always feel special, incomparable feeling. Adjusted for centuries appearance of buildings, historic landscapes, the charm of antiquity - it all helps us escape from the frantic pace of modern times at least for a while, forget everyday problems, in short, to get an unforgettable pleasure.

The history of the settlement is inextricably intertwined with the history of the Russian. In the annals the City of Rostov was mentioned for the first time somewhere in the 860s. And, even then, the city was a large enough. Rostov principality was an honorable and influential among the north-Russian principalities.

Such personalities as Prince Oleg, Yaroslav the Wise, the martyr Boris, Yuri Dolgoruky, Tsar Ivan the Terrible, St. Dimitry Rostovsky by their business are written in the history of the city. This town survived the invasion of the Golden Horde, the Time of Troubles, revolution, collectivization, industrialization and left as it is - quiet cozy town that retains its identity, and mystery stories inherent in any ancient monument.

Prices of goods and services in different localities are calculated not only by rating agencies, but also by such organization as Rosstat. It is responsible for the calculation of the cost of living in Russian cities. Method of such calculation based on a value of 275 goods and services. In this case, the criterion for their selection is the popularity and frequency of use by citizens of the Russian Federation. As a reference point the average activities of their value over the country was taken. Its value was 100%. Depending on how more expensive or cheaper to live in a particular locality the figure was deflected upward or downward, respectively. Ultimately the cheapest cities in Russia were identified, as, indeed, the most expensive ones.

Among the cheapest cities of the Russian Federation predictably were not included those that are located in the Moscow and Leningrad regions. In the first place there was a city called Balashov. It is located in the Saratov region. It actually won by a fairly significant advantage. The cost of basic goods and services in this city is only 73.65% of the average prices in the Russian Federation.

Half way from Moscow to Yaroslavl, on the shores of a large Lake Plescheevo, is an ancient Russian city of Pereslavl-Zalessky. Pereslavl-Zalessky founded in the twelfth century by Grand Prince Yuri Dolgoruky soon became the capital of the principality. It is the famous for that Prince Alexander Nevsky was born there. Standing on the ancient trade route Pereslavl-Zalessky in the 16th century was one of the largest cities in Russia and one of the centers of Russian Orthodoxy.

At the end of the seventeenth century in this city on Lake Plescheevo, the young Tsar Peter I created his ships, which became the forerunner of the Russian Navy. Now Pereslavl -Zalessky is a small town located near Yaroslavl, with a population of slightly more than 40,000 residents. This beautiful and ancient princely city is included in the Golden Ring of Russia and rightfully can be called an architectural open-air museum. Besides the Pereslavl Kremlin in the city are the ancient monasteries, most of which work for several centuries.

There are a lot of beautiful cities in the Russian Federation, with rich centuries-old history and culture. Despite their diversity, after all, I have tried to determine the most beautiful cities of Russia.

The first place in the list by rights is St. Petersburg. This city is diverse by its variety of colorful locations. It is rich in museums, monuments, theaters, concert venues, as well as numerous monuments. Whatever it was, in any case, the St. Petersburg authorities have tried to remain its look truly unique. It is for this reason that every newly created project is carefully coordinated. In this case, an important role is public opinion.

Not surprisingly, the second place in the ranking of the most beautiful cities in Russia belongs to Moscow. After all, this city is the capital of the largest state in the world. Despite the fact that numerous hardships fell on Moscow, the city has a large number of monuments. The most attractive places here are the Christ the Savior Cathedral, Arc de Triomphe, the Kremlin, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Arena, the Pushkin Museum, Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, Resurrection Gates and, of course, the Red Square.
